Match Penalties for Fighting and the ensuing Suspensions
In an effort to stem the amount of 'Fighting' Majors called in Sanctioned games, the below was voted for and accepted by the attending teams. Team managers are being asked to convey the following information to their players.
The first Match Penalty for Fighting given to a player in any 12 month period may, after review of referees reports, incur a ONE Month or Three Game minimum Suspension (which ever is longest)
A Subsequent Fighting Major to the same player in any 12 month period may, after a review of the Referees reports, incur a TWO Month or 6 Game Suspension (which ever is longest.)
A third Match Penalty for Fighting in any 12 Month period, may after review of the Refferees reports, lead to the players Licence being suspended until the end of that Registration Season. Re-registration for the following Season, may also be reviewed.
All of these enhanced Suspensions are subject to review and are NOT Automatic, but injuries and circumstances may increase them further, as is current practice.
The single Match given on the day however is automatic and not up for review, this will be the absolute minimum your players will receive. We will not be overturning Match penalties given by officials on the day. Serving this is mandatory, and is the responsibility of Team Managers.
The current Appeal procedure will still apply.
This procedure will become live from the 1st October 2008 |
